Description:
In chapter XLIV, the reader and commenter asks “who was the black man” as the character in the story welcomes an unfamiliar black man into her home and chambers. At the end of the chapter, the commenter again asks “who was the black man” and answers their own question by stating that “it was depression.” This seems a rather personal, yet poignant interpretation of the text.

There are other sections marked by brackets and the word “important” and whole chapters that are emphasized by an indistinguishable word on the first page of the chapter.
